0297093 is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Square-Cut Cord Stock built to a cross section of 0.093 in (2.36 mm). In service, this square-cut cord stock ships as continuous square-cut stock so a custom-length seal can be cut and spliced on site.

Viton® (FKM) is known for very low compression set at elevated temperature and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. It resists many acids, petroleum oils and fuels, and engine and transmission fluids. Applications involving ketones and esters or low-molecular-weight organic acids call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

It sees regular use in automotive fuel systems, chemical processing, and aerospace.
