Gaskets are mechanical seals used to prevent leakage in static applications between two or more mating surfaces. Gaskets are produced from sheet materials in various raw materials including non-asbestos sheet, paper, rubber, cork, felt, neoprene, fiberglass, metal, silicone, or PTFE (Teflon). Gaskets are the trusted solution for static seals where high compression performance is required. Spiral-wound gaskets are a hybrid composite of metallic and flexible graphite specifically used in low clamp force applications.
