.098 (3/32) SQUARE BUNA 70 O-RING CORD

The 0296098 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Cord Stock measuring a cross section of 0.098 in (2.49 mm). This square-cut cord stock lets you fabricate a square-cut seal to any circumference without a special tooling charge.

This material stands up to greases and lubricants, propane and butane, and water. Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers low compression set under sustained load, strong abrasion and tear resistance. Exposure to ozone and direct sunlight or strong acids will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
