11820500-10 is a Braided Inconel Wire Compression Packing measuring a 1/2 inch square cross section. In service, this compression packing is cut into rings and stacked in a stuffing box, then compressed by the gland to seal a rotating or reciprocating shaft. Source specification: 10 LB. Braided Inconel Wire is specified for controlled leakage that lubricates and cools the shaft, a braided construction that conforms to the stuffing box. The material holds up against elevated temperature and pressure, shaft wear, and process media. Rated for service to approximately 1200°F. Exposure to running dry without flush or over-tightening of the gland will shorten service life.

Typical settings include mixers and rotary equipment, water and process plants, and centrifugal and reciprocating pumps.
