APG stocks the 11800500-05, a G.F.O. Packing Compression Packing with a 1/2 inch square cross section. A compression packing is cut into rings and stacked in a stuffing box, then compressed by the gland to seal a rotating or reciprocating shaft. The catalog record notes: 5 LB. Box - Approx. 28 FT.

This material stands up to elevated temperature and pressure, process media, and shaft wear. That behavior comes from the compound itself: G.F.O. Packing offers a braided construction that conforms to the stuffing box, controlled leakage that lubricates and cools the shaft. Rated for service to approximately 550°F. It is not the right choice where over-tightening of the gland or running dry without flush are present.
