1/2 SQUARE EPDM 60 DUROMETER

APG stocks the 0292500, a black EPDM (EPR) 60 Shore A Square-Cut Cord Stock with a cross section of 0.5 in (12.7 mm). A square-cut cord stock ships as continuous square-cut stock so a custom-length seal can be cut and spliced on site.

EPDM (EPR) is valued for very good flexibility at low temperature and good electrical insulating characteristics. The compound resists phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, brake fluid, and dilute acids and alkalis. It is not the right choice where mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons are present. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

Typical settings include brake and phosphate ester systems, outdoor equipment, and water and steam systems.
