0297125 is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Square-Cut Cord Stock supplied with a cross section of 0.125 in (3.18 mm). In service, this square-cut cord stock ships as continuous square-cut stock so a custom-length seal can be cut and spliced on site.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for outstanding high-temperature capability and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. It resists petroleum oils and fuels, aggressive chemicals, and many acids. Applications involving low-molecular-weight organic acids or amines call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
