0297134 is a black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Square-Cut Cord Stock measuring a cross section of 0.134 in (3.4 mm). In service, this square-cut cord stock supplies profiled extrusion for grooves a round cord cannot fill.

This material stands up to chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, and engine and transmission fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Exposure to amines or ketones and esters will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
