.202 (3/16) SQUARE BUNA 70 O-RING CORD

0296202 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Cord Stock built to a cross section of 0.202 in (5.13 mm). In service, this square-cut cord stock lets you fabricate a square-cut seal to any circumference without a special tooling charge.

It resists petroleum-based oils, water, and propane and butane. Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for strong abrasion and tear resistance, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
