0296264 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Cord Stock with a cross section of 0.264 in (6.71 mm). In service, this square-cut cord stock lets you fabricate a square-cut seal to any circumference without a special tooling charge.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for low compression set under sustained load, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. It resists water, hydraulic fluids, and many alcohols. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
