Brass is valued for good strength with dependable sealing at threaded joints, good corrosion resistance in water and mild chemical service. This material stands up to corrosion in water service, moderate pressure, and atmospheric exposure. Applications involving ammonia and amine compounds or dezincification in aggressive water call for a different compound.
