Stainless Steel is specified here for hygienic, cleanable surface suited to sanitary process lines and dimensional stability under thermal cycling. The compound resists chemical attack, salt water and washdown, and elevated temperature. Applications involving chloride stress cracking in some grades or galvanic pairing with dissimilar metals call for a different compound.

Typical settings include chemical transfer, marine and offshore, and pharmaceutical.
