As a material, Brass is specified for non-sparking characteristics valued in some environments, good corrosion resistance in water and mild chemical service. The compound resists moderate pressure, corrosion in water service, and atmospheric exposure. Exposure to strong acids or dezincification in aggressive water will shorten service life.
