0284375X425 is a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Oval Cord Stock measuring a cross section of 0.425 in (10.8 mm). In service, this oval cord stock lets you fabricate an oval seal to any circumference without a special tooling charge.

The compound resists greases and lubricants, petroleum-based oils, and propane and butane. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. It is not the right choice where strong acids or ozone and direct sunlight are present. The profile itself contributes an oval section that fills wide, shallow grooves.
