Stainless Steel is specified here for long service life in demanding outdoor environments and dimensional stability under thermal cycling. It resists chemical attack, corrosion and oxidation, and salt water and washdown. Applications involving galvanic pairing with dissimilar metals or chloride stress cracking in some grades call for a different compound.
