Ordered as 4MHP9, this is a High Pressure Gauge Glass. The gauge glass seats in a gauge frame to give a protected, direct view of process level.

Borosilicate gauge glass is specified here for precision-formed bore and wall thickness, annealed for consistent strength. It resists thermal shock, chemical attack from water and steam, and internal pressure. Applications involving abrasive cleaning or mechanical impact call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in process tanks and vessels, water treatment, and boilers and steam drums.
