568-006 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70006 is an AS568-006 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 0.114 in (2.9 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.254 in (6.45 mm). In service, this square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

Viton® (FKM) is valued for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and outstanding high-temperature capability. Expect good resistance to engine and transmission fluids, chlorinated solvents, and many acids. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where amines or ketones and esters are present. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
