Ordered as SV70025, this is an AS568-025 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.176 in (29.87 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.316 in (33.43 mm). The square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.
It resists petroleum oils and fuels, engine and transmission fluids, and many acids. Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, outstanding high-temperature capability. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to ketones and esters or amines will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
You will find this material specified across semiconductor equipment, aerospace, and high-temperature process equipment.
Stocked as SV70025 and sold individually. Nominal inside diameter is listed as 1 3/16 inch. Application requirements vary, so validate compatibility with your process conditions prior to installation.
