568-026 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SV70026 is an AS568-026 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 1.239 in (31.47 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.379 in (35.03 mm). This square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) delivers long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The material holds up against aggressive chemicals, many acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving hot water and steam or amines call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
