The SV70027 is an AS568-027 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.301 in (33.05 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.441 in (36.6 mm). This square-cut ring presents a flat rectangular section that cannot roll or twist in its groove, making it a dependable static seal.

This material stands up to chlorinated solvents, engine and transmission fluids, and many acids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is specified for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving amines or ketones and esters call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

Typical settings include high-temperature process equipment, oil and gas, and chemical processing.
