568-029 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Part number SV70029 is an AS568-029 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.489 in (37.82 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.629 in (41.38 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and outstanding high-temperature capability. This material stands up to aromatic hydrocarbons, engine and transmission fluids, and many acids. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
