APG stocks the SV70035, an AS568-035 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.239 in (56.87 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.379 in (60.43 mm). A square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.
As a material, Viton® (FKM) is valued for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. It resists engine and transmission fluids, petroleum oils and fuels, and aromatic hydrocarbons. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across automotive fuel systems, semiconductor equipment, and aerospace.
Stocked as SV70035 and sold individually. Confirm chemical compatibility, pressure and temperature against your own application requirements before installing. Not finding the exact configuration you need? APG cross-references from prints, samples and competitor part numbers.
