The SV70045 is an AS568-045 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 3.989 in (101.32 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.129 in (104.88 mm). This square-cut ring presents a flat rectangular section that cannot roll or twist in its groove, making it a dependable static seal.

It resists engine and transmission fluids, chlorinated solvents, and aggressive chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is valued for outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
