APG stocks the SV70047, an AS568-047 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 4.489 in (114.02 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.629 in (117.58 mm). A square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.
The material holds up against aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and engine and transmission fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) delivers very low compression set at elevated temperature and outstanding high-temperature capability. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in hot water and steam or ketones and esters. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across aerospace, semiconductor equipment, and automotive fuel systems.
Stocked as SV70047 and sold individually. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. For a size or compound outside the standard catalog, APG can quote from a print or sample.
