Part number SV70049 is an AS568-049 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 4.989 in (126.72 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.129 in (130.28 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

The compound resists chlorinated solvents, engine and transmission fluids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is known for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments.
