568-107 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SH70107 is an AS568-107 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.206 in (5.23 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.412 in (10.46 mm). In service, this square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The compound resists water, propane and butane, and greases and lubricants. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Verify compatibility before use with polar solvents or automotive brake fluid. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
