568-111 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SV70111 is an AS568-111 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.424 in (10.77 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.63 in (16 mm). This square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is known for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, many acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where amines or hot water and steam are present. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
