568-116 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70116 is an AS568-116 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.737 in (18.72 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.943 in (23.95 mm). In service, this square-cut ring presents a flat rectangular section that cannot roll or twist in its groove, making it a dependable static seal.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is valued for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The material holds up against engine and transmission fluids, many acids, and petroleum oils and fuels. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or amines will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

Typical settings include oil and gas, high-temperature process equipment, and aerospace.
