Part number SV70121 is an AS568-121 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 1.049 in (26.64 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.255 in (31.88 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

Viton® (FKM) is known for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. It resists engine and transmission fluids, aggressive chemicals, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
