Part number SV70129 is an AS568-129 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 1.549 in (39.34 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.755 in (44.58 mm). A square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

The compound resists aggressive chemicals, petroleum oils and fuels, and chlorinated solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) offers excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam are present. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
