The SV70134 is an AS568-134 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 1.862 in (47.29 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.068 in (52.53 mm). This square-cut ring presents a flat rectangular section that cannot roll or twist in its groove, making it a dependable static seal.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in amines or hot water and steam. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
