This o-ring is supplied in AS568-149 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 2.8 in (71.12 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.006 in (76.35 mm), catalogued under part number VITON75149. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The material holds up against many acids, engine and transmission fluids, and petroleum oils and fuels. Viton® (FKM) is known for outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam call for a different compound.
