568-169 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SH70169 is an AS568-169 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 7.487 in (190.17 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.693 in (195.4 mm). In service, this square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

The compound resists petroleum-based oils, hydraulic fluids, and many alcohols. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is widely chosen for reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
