568-170 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70170 is an AS568-170 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 7.737 in (196.52 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.943 in (201.75 mm). In service, this square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

This material stands up to engine and transmission fluids, petroleum oils and fuels, and many acids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is specified for outstanding high-temperature capability, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Verify compatibility before use with amines or ketones and esters. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
