568-174 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SV70174 is an AS568-174 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 8.737 in (221.92 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.943 in (227.15 mm). This square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

Viton® (FKM) delivers long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The compound resists aggressive chemicals, engine and transmission fluids, and many acids. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
