568-202 BUNA 70 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SH70202 is an AS568-202 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.234 in (5.94 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.512 in (13 mm). This square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs. It resists petroleum-based oils, hydraulic fluids, and propane and butane. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where polar solvents or automotive brake fluid are present. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
