568-203 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70203 is an AS568-203 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.296 in (7.52 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.574 in (14.58 mm). In service, this square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Expect good resistance to chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
