568-206 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

This square-cut ring is supplied in AS568-206 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A with an inside diameter of 0.484 in (12.29 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.762 in (19.35 mm), catalogued under part number SV70206. It provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

The compound resists many acids, aggressive chemicals, and chlorinated solvents. Viton® (FKM) offers excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, very low compression set at elevated temperature. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Verify compatibility before use with amines or hot water and steam. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
