Ordered as SH70207, this is an AS568-207 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 0.546 in (13.87 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.824 in (20.93 mm). The square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

It resists greases and lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and propane and butane. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving polar solvents or ozone and direct sunlight call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
