568-207 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Ordered as SV70207, this is an AS568-207 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.546 in (13.87 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.824 in (20.93 mm). The square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. It resists petroleum oils and fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons, and engine and transmission fluids. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
