568-219 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Part number SV70219 is an AS568-219 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring with an inside diameter of 1.296 in (32.92 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.574 in (39.98 mm). A square-cut ring resists the spiral failure that affects round rings on long reciprocating strokes.

It resists many acids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and engine and transmission fluids. Viton® (FKM) offers excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, outstanding high-temperature capability. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving hot water and steam or ketones and esters call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

Typical settings include semiconductor equipment, high-temperature process equipment, and chemical processing.
