568-220 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70220 is an AS568-220 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 1.359 in (34.52 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.637 in (41.58 mm). In service, this square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

This material stands up to many acids, aggressive chemicals, and petroleum oils and fuels. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is known for very low compression set at elevated temperature and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to ketones and esters or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
