568-221 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70221 is an AS568-221 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.421 in (36.09 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.699 in (43.15 mm). In service, this square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

The material holds up against petroleum oils and fuels, aggressive chemicals, and aromatic hydrocarbons. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) delivers long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Verify compatibility before use with low-molecular-weight organic acids or amines. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
