568-229 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

SV70229 is an AS568-229 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.359 in (59.92 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.637 in (66.98 mm). In service, this square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

This material stands up to chlorinated solvents, many acids, and aggressive chemicals. Viton® (FKM) is known for very low compression set at elevated temperature and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where ketones and esters or hot water and steam are present. The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

It sees regular use in aerospace, semiconductor equipment, and chemical processing.
