SV70230 is an AS568-230 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.484 in (63.09 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.762 in (70.15 mm). In service, this square-cut ring presents a flat rectangular section that cannot roll or twist in its groove, making it a dependable static seal.

Viton® (FKM) is specified for very low compression set at elevated temperature and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, petroleum oils and fuels, and many acids. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Applications involving low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam call for a different compound. The profile itself contributes a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.

Typical settings include oil and gas, automotive fuel systems, and semiconductor equipment.
