568-240 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

APG stocks the SV70240, an AS568-240 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 3.734 in (94.84 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.012 in (101.9 mm). A square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

Viton® (FKM) offers outstanding high-temperature capability, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. This material stands up to petroleum oils and fuels, aromatic hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to ketones and esters or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
