568-252 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

The SV70252 is an AS568-252 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 5.234 in (132.94 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.512 in (140 mm). This square-cut ring provides an economical lathe-cut alternative where a moulded o-ring is not required.

Viton® (FKM) offers very low compression set at elevated temperature and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material holds up against many acids, engine and transmission fluids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to ketones and esters or hot water and steam will shorten service life. The profile itself contributes simple lathe-cut manufacture at low tooling cost and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
