568-256 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

APG stocks the SV70256, an AS568-256 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 5.734 in (145.64 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.012 in (152.7 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

It resists chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. Viton® (FKM) delivers the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and outstanding high-temperature capability. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where amines or ketones and esters are present. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
