568-259 FKM 75 SQUARE CUT RINGS

Ordered as SV70259, this is an AS568-259 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring built to an inside diameter of 6.234 in (158.34 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.512 in (165.4 mm). The square-cut ring seals with a broad flat contact band instead of the line contact of a round-section ring.

Expect good resistance to aggressive chemicals, petroleum oils and fuels, and engine and transmission fluids. Viton® (FKM) delivers excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Verify compatibility before use with hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
