Part number SV70261 is an AS568-261 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A Square-Cut Ring measuring an inside diameter of 6.734 in (171.04 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.012 in (178.1 mm). A square-cut ring offers greater contact area against the gland wall than an equivalent o-ring.

This material stands up to aromatic hydrocarbons, engine and transmission fluids, and chlorinated solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) offers outstanding high-temperature capability and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). The profile itself contributes greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size and a flat contact band that spreads sealing load across a wider area. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
